Kent Little, Senior Pastor

Since his first introduction to College Hill United Methodist Church Kent has found this community as a grace-filled and sacred space of justice, welcome, and inclusivity, and is thrilled to be a part of this family of faith.

Kent grew up the son of a United Methodist Minister, born and raised in Kansas and in the United Methodist Church. He entered into the ministry in 1992 as a student pastor, earning his BA in Speech and Communications in 1994, a Master of Divinity from Saint Paul School of Theology in 1998, and was ordained an Elder in the Kansas West Conference in 2000.

"I have long held College Hill United Methodist Church as what 'Church' is supposed to be. It is a privilege and honor for me to be in ministry in this Reconciling Congregation with a commitment to inclusivity, the Spirit, Justice, and the care of all Creation. We hold a long tradition and a hope-filled future of living out a faith that participates with the Spirit as we work side by side to create a community of peace bound together in Love and Grace Beyond Belief.

Brian Sutton, Director of Student Ministries and Community Life

Brian grew up in Culver, Kansas and was raised in the Methodist Church. He graduated from Kansas Wesleyan University in 1991 with a Bachelor’s degree in Music and Theatre Education. He has been involved in youth ministry for over 17 years 8 of those years, he worked in the Kansas West conference office for the United Methodist Church serving as the Director of Youth Ministry, Young Adults and Camping.  Brian came on staff at College Hill in October of 2006 and hasn’t looked back.

The youth ministry program at College Hill reaches out to all youth regardless of race, language, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, physical or mental ability, economic status or faith background. We embrace diversity and we affirm the dignity and worth of every person created in the image of God. We believe that discrimination is incompatible with God's message of unconditional love. We are a group focused on building our relationship with Jesus Christ, working in ministry and dedicated to outreach into our community with many activities and connections.

Brian also works with the community life of the church. Bringing in speakers and special programs, offering outreach opportunities into the community and building relationships in the neighborhood.

"This church embodies ministry for me. There is so much going on and so many places to get involved. I love my job and I love my kids. (Yes, I call them all my kids.) This is a very special place and a great church.”

I believe that music plays a vital role in the spiritual development of this community we call CHUM. It is our desire to provide much variety in the musical offerings during worship so that each person can experience music that touches his or her heart.

I look on the music program at College Hill United Methodist as our mission, and we invite all of you to get involved in one or more of the music groups here at the church."
