  John Martin, Senior Pastor

"I'm excited about coming to College Hill.  The idea of being the senior pastor of 'not your ordinary church' is very appealing to me.  I hope we continue being an open, growing, loving community of faith.  In the process of growing, I see my role as being one who proclaims God's love, acceptance, and hope as seen in Jesus Christ."

John is married to Sharon, a Journalism teacher at East High School.  They have two children, Anne, a senior at Kansas State University, and Alex, a freshman at Wichita State University.

John has been a United Methodist Pastor for 28 years.  He is a graduate of Southwestern College, has a Masters of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary and a Masters of Education from Wichita State University in Marriage and Family Therapy.

  Sarah Marsh, Associate Pastor

Sarah is excited to return to Kansas to pursue ordained ministry in the United Methodist Church with "a deep desire to follow Christ by seeking God's kingdom purposes of love, justice, peace, joy and hope for all god's children."

Sarah is a recent Masters of Divinity graduate from Princeton Theological Seminary and a native of Halstead, KS.  She grew up and was very active in the United Methodist Church.  She graduated from Halstead High School.

Ross Hearn, Dir. of Church Music & Chancel Choir

"Hello! I'm Ross Hearn, and I've served College Hill as Director of Church Music since August of 1985.

I direct the Chancel Choir and oversee the entire music program at the church, which includes the 9:40 contemporary service, the Genesis Youth Choir, Jubilation Ringers Adult Bell Choir, and the Carol and Covenant Children's Choirs. Click here for rehearsal times.

I believe that music plays a vital role in the spiritual development of this community we call CHUM. It is our desire to provide much variety in the musical offerings during worship so that each person can experience music that touches his or her heart.

My wife Judy and I look on the music program at College Hill United Methodist as our mission, and we invite all of you to get involved in one or more of the music groups here at the church."

Jo Lynn Lewis, Director of Caring Ministries

"College Hill UMC is comprised of a variety of individuals, all of whom have cares and needs. Some are ill, grieving, homebound, struggling, and in care homes. At CHUM, all members are a vital part of our church community even those who can no longer attend or participate in the church's activities and ministries. No matter what age, all people deserve to live their lives with dignity and to continue to grow spiritually."

Jo Lynn is married to Dave, a property manager with Weigand Omega. They have four children; John, an adult son living in Arizona; Erin, a teacher at Hyde International Studies Magnet; Mark, a student at the University of Kansas; and Alice, a Senior  in high school.
