Getting to know our Pastors

Rev. John V. Martin
Senior Pastor

As I follow the ministry of those great pastors and leaders who have gone before me, I count it a privilege to be appointed to College Hill.  My hopes and dreams for College Hill are substantial and far-reaching.  I hope College Hill will continue to be a unique congregation offering God's love to all people and all of the universe.

As we join together in living out God's invitation for life, let us remember that God is the Essence of Love.  Since we live in love, we can permit ourselves to be an extraordinary church that brings people from all walks of life together in concern for the good of all.  I am committed to leading you in being an inclusive, cutting edge, grounded in faith, exciting, healing, loving, accountable in love, accepting, and transforming church.

Rev. Sarah Marsh
Associate Pastor

I am filled with a tremendous sense of joy and gratitude to begin my first year in pastoral service among the people of College Hill UMC.

It is my prayer that the Spirit of God would bless all of us gathered in this community with a deep sense of belonging, safety, connectedness, and grace.  And so blessed, it is my hope that the Spirit would continue to transform us into persons of radical faith and commitment, persons whose lives mirror and echo the boundary-breaking, world-shaking love of Jesus Christ. May the kingdom of God spring up among us as we pursue together the paths of peace, justice, and reconciliation, and as we seek to love and befriend the vulnerable, marginalized, and exploited children of God in our community and around the world.
