When Jesus Came to Harvard:
Making Moral Choices Today by Harvey Cox
In this book the author brings the
moral wisdom of Rabbi Jesus into the twenty-first century by way of questions,
arguments, responses, and doubts of centuries of rabbinic and Christian
theological exploration. Cox shows how we can extrapolate from Jesus'
parables and bridge the gap between the ancient and modern worlds.
When Jesus Came to Harvard
is not a look at the "historical Jesus" but it considers Jesus contemporary
significance by concentrating on the stories he told and those told about him.
The Soul's Code: In Search of
Character and Calling by James Hillman
This book dedicates itself to what
is innate, not to how it got this way or where it is going. Hillman does
not see human beings as results or, worse, victims of their lives, nor does he
promise or even seek a "cure," instead he welcomes the necessity of every aspect
of what makes up a life. Essentially, Hillman believes that there is more
to life - to each individual - than can be explained by the traditional
"either/or" categories of genetics and environment.
The Power of Intention by
Dr. Wayne W. Dyer
Thoughts from the book. . .
"Change the way you look at
things, and the things you look at change."
“You were intended out of love;
you must be love in order to intend.”
“If you’re experiencing scarcity, anguish, depression, an
absence of love, or any inability to attract what you desire, seriously look at
how you’ve been attracting these circumstances into your life.”
“That which offends you only weakens you.”
